The Law Visits the Frog

While watching the silver mushroom of a mylar balloon scream across the sky like some sort of flimsy space capsule, I thought to myself, if we all find out that kid is safe at home with his grandmother, I'll freakin' scream.

Just the lilt of the trajectory caused even the most novice of space geeks to figure the craft was nothing more than a kite pulled free.

Well, as the story played out, I got the home part right. And the boy was safe, that's what really mattered. My aggravation stems from a couple of kids who went missing recently in my neck of the woods, both on the very same day.

Guess where both turned up?

You got it. Each had been picked up by a grandparent who--for God knows what reason--didn't bother to communicate such with the parents.

And guess what kicks in when a kid goes missing and your family member's name is listed on a very special dance card?

Procedures.

Two very efficient police officers show up on your front doorstep. The pounding on the door is followed by a flashlight beaming through the front window.

After opening the door, both inquire after your loved one and ask they step outside.

When did you arrive home from work? Been driving around since? Who's that who answered the door? Can she verify the time you arrived home? Mind asking her to step outside?

Is there a problem, officer?

No ma'am, just like to ask what time your family member arrived home?

(We don't punch a time clock here flashed through my brain, but these guys, well, they appeared two moves from cuffing somebody and dragging them off to jail, thus ensuring that your mug shot will hit the online local and any semblance of life managed to be salvaged after the first (and only) tango with the law is totally--and quite possibly--forever screwed).

I gave my answer and got the look. You know, the we-are-sizing-up-if-you-are-telling-a-bald-face-lie look. Or could've been both were checking out my Martin Kiar red campaign tee-shirt, which in retrospect, was sort of like waving a crimson cape in front of two extremely testy bulls.

My answer proved acceptable. With a nod, they head off.

I couldn't resist. Sure there isn't a problem?

No ma'am. Have a nice evening.

Maybe one night, I'll do just that.

Until then, back into the shadows, waiting for the next knock on the front door because some family somewhere didn't bother to pick up a cell phone to confirm child care arrangements.

All said and done, at least you and your family are safe. I hope you never have to go through that again.

I hope my family never has to either.

Thank you, Book.

And the same to you and yours. No one should have to live like this...

Have a good weekend.

sunny, the connection is kinda obvious.

staff member of gelber.

made up bullshit.

warning knock and beam.

if you checked their RECORDS I bet you any money they did not hit every offender around you. ANY MONEY.

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

You see????????

Mark Ober-tler sends his cops to chase my family down ALL THE TIME.

Especially because he does NOT prosecute murder.

Well, he does.

But, only selectively.

And you better shut the fuck up about it.

ya see????

They just wanted to confirm who you were.

In their little tiny minds, that's FUN.

Notice the polite tones. It's so that when you video them nothing is apparent. BUT, I ALWAYS catch something. EVERY TIME.

Usually two or three things. In like nine minutes.

Provisions of the current Florida Constitution
[edit] Article I: "Declaration of Rights"
The Florida Constitution begins with a Declaration of Rights, which is similar to the U.S. Bill of Rights but, like most state bills of rights, is broader than the federal version. Among other things, the Florida Constitution guarantees trial by jury, due process, freedom of the press and of religion. It also forbids, among other things, the passage of ex post facto laws and cruel and unusual punishment.

Something I forgot to mention, how one officer was beaming his flashlight into the back of one of our vehicles..............

Sunny, in pinellas county I saw a CITIZEN in one of those 'voluntary citizen police' type vehicles that the nazi sheriffs issue? Circling (sweeping) a parking lot and then stopping behind a vehicle and shining a light in it. No uniform or anything .. just a guy ... so when the owner came out I approached them and stated this to them and they were slightly concerned and said, 'oh they were probably checking for my handicapped permit'.

Yknow.

OR NOT.

So, don't feel particularly vulneralbe inasmuch as they will say any fucking bullshit. To justify ANY FUCKING BULLSHIT.

This was in 2007 when I observed this.

So, if we don't shove these f'ers back under their rocks that's that.

SUE THEM.

The only place to win is in the courts while there are still SOME judges left.

Check out united for peace and justice.

They just beat the smithereens out of dangerous and foaming at the mouth DC cops (met one during the inaugrification) who were checkpointing the UNGATED entrances to random (let's call them diverse) neighborhoods, pulling cars over, asking them who they were visiting in the hood, WHY, FOR THE PHONE NUMBER of the person and other details.

The cops appealed the lower court decision and an appeals court judge affirmed for the wronged citizens.

So, if they hadn't won that then they would have had precedent to roll that shit out all across the country, you see? (of course you do)

IF the cops are following florida statute to bang on your door and shine a beam and alla that then the statute they are using is UNCONSTITUTIONAL to the United States of America's Constitution.

'and no state shall make any law......'

and it's just been affirmed.

They can't checkpoint your fucking house.

Sunny said...

So nobody's home on the list should be checkpointed in the name of procedures...in fact, why come straight to the names of the SOR...why not dragnet the entire neighborhood in search of whoever? Jerks.

Vox Populi said...

yeah .. because UM why would the SO be HOME?? THey're wasting all that fucking time knocking on doors. (well blogger doors, anyway)

THEY SHOULD BE CALLING FAMILY LOOKING FOR A CHILD ETCETERA.

The biggest comfort is that the worm ALWAYS ALWAYS turns.

I'll keep helping you shove that worm to the left, baby. Or whatever it takes.

Had the cops at my door day before yesterday...then read your blog.

In our case they were just 'checking up'...seeing if we had any kidnap victims roaming around our basement, I guess.

We live next door to the chief of police.

My son said "why don't you just ask HIM if I'm home?"

Sorry, Sunny. Wish for better times...or worse times for all others...- A

Sunny said...

Thanks for that, SgtMom. Sounds like you both have a great attitude...it's hard sometimes...

I will wish for better times and again, thanks for stopping by...:)

My best to you and yours.

chief of police probably set her son up. Seems kinda cozy ....

My son is the victim of a false accusation. His 11 year old cousin 'disclosed' he raped her every day for two weeks, two years before. She had already accused a 5 yr old boy when she was 4 of rape (her mother did, anyway) and spent years in child abuse therapy.

She was virginally intact, which is our new age miracle, her history of prior accusations (2) and years of therapy were rape shielded. Her mother's history of making accusations of her own as a kid were rape shielded as 'victim by proxy', as was her history of having other family members arrested after an argument.

My son was only 16.

The family tried to back out of the accusation, but the prosecutor said she'd charge HER with the crime instead (where it belonged btw). They fled the state 10 days before trial refusing to return, then admitted the accuser into a mental facility 2 days before when ORDERED to return.

My son was railroaded into an Alford plea for no jail time - guilty of Children Don't Lie_ then jailed anyway when he again passed another polygraph saying he didn't do it.

He has registered over 11 years now. She said he used a knife so they won't allow him relief of duty to register.

The chief of police next door is a good guy, & likes my son. A kid who knew my son from school when he was first accused is on the force, and has kept them at bay. He knew my son was innocent. There's a new detective on the force trying to be a cowboy. The others are aware he was falsely accused.

I live in Colorado, and love your blog, btw...

Before I knew ALL of what I know now I had already met someone who was a 'sex offender' before anyone was a sex offender. The deal where the x wife accuses the x husband of it and mainly just because the family is insane as happened with yours. Make a long story short I did not care for the guy personally (not my kind of people I only knew him a short time through a family member) BUT even with not caring for him I still never believed the story .. it rang false. He even seemed a bit odd but not like a person who would harm another person. Just odd. So what?? SO FUCKING WHAT?

Now, I imagine that he's on a list of some kind. Dont' know ... can't really even remember where he's from ...

But, right away when all this became so NEWSY and everyone whose anyone or was on their way to beings someone ended up on one list or another I already went through all the scenarios where a person could be lied on to a frame up. NOW I know WHO DOES IT here locally.
AND I can prove it.

So ... yay, my cousin's car has to go to the mechanic again over telling the truth but GUESS WHAT???

It will only make things worse on the perpetrators. It's to the point I can predict car damage.

As noted.

Glad your son has some folks in his corner.

I think that if cops are good guys that they should be fighting this tooth and claw.

I have no reason to fight it other than it's WRONG. WRONG. And inhuman.

I agree that anyone who steals the innocence of a child is a rat bastard. I do.

BUT, this is NOT what this law is about.

Do you and the guy next door ever discuss how to get legislation going to reverse this sickness?
it's not that hard.

It's a dragon that must be slain.

And we all know that.

Now they're expanding it ... all kinds of people being entrapped with sexting and my space and other bullshit.

No. We had a lovely young couple in that house before - they lost their shirt trying to sell the house because it was next door to a RSO.

The cop bought it dirt cheap. I'm sure thinking he would no have to worry about us. He has two young sons.

My son works on cars, and always has something impressive in the garage. He sometimes does small repairs for cheap on the guy's car and his wife sends banana bread over to thank him.

He talked about the former police Chief (the guy told me, his mother, "I'm out to get your son". My son dated a girl who's dad was an attorney at the time, and the guy had a little chat with them - those were scary times.

My son is well aquainted with all the cops in town (small town) and they just joked and insulted some of them.

No heavy duty talk at all. NEVER talk about the SO stuff. My son said when he goes to register, the guy comes out, shakes his hand and asks about his latest car or boat. Just a rare decent person.

Cops get accused quite a bit themselves. That doesn't make them nice about other's troubles, but once in a while it's gotta hit home with one or two of them.

I met my sister in law in the '70's. She was in high school, and used to joke about giving baby boys erections while she babysat.

She mentioned it A LOT.

After I knew her better I told her I'd been molested as a kid, and how awful it was.

She had me repeat my story several times. I thought she was concerned until a few weeks later she repeated my story -as her own.

I thought she was mocking me, she even used my vocal inflections. Not so. She just loved the drama.

When stalking made the TV circuit, she was stalked. When Oprah introduced us to DV, her wimpy husband suddenly beat her up one night. He was too drunk to remember doing it, and showed no marks, but she insisted it happened, and the poor dope went along with it.

Then she discovered child abuse. Mad at the the lady next door, she claimed the 5 year old boy raped her 4 year old daughter.

She and I got into an argument when I caught her sneaking booze to a recovering Alcoholic family member.

She began telling everyone my son molested her son.

After 6 months of this, I called her and demanded she stop spreading that rumor. If she believed it happened, then report it.

I said I would report HER history of false accusations and her babysitting story if she didn't apologize to my son.

That night she called and apologized.

Two years later her daughter claimed she'd been raped those two years ago.

The rest is my son's ruined life.

Sorry to blab...Thanks for listening.

I have a friend who has witnessed this tactic before regarding home ownership many times....regarding your comment...."they lost their shirt trying to sell the house because it was next door to a RSO.

The cop bought it dirt cheap. I'm sure thinking he would no have to worry about us. He has two young sons...."

I should clarify...not only witnessed, it has happened to her family. If she stops by, I'm certain your observation will catch her attention.

Sort of like a realty fire sale for local PD...but you would think realtors would scream long and loud about the property values...especially in this economy.

And thanks for the blog kudos....glad to have you along for the ride....:)

Right on! regarding sexting, especially when it comes to older teenagers...and many are finding themselves entrapped in the current laws for typical teenage bad choices...i.e. poor choices involving the use of their cell phone cameras....

yes familiar scenario all around sgtmom. sunny do you know sgtmom? She sounds genuine. I like to be careful who I put my faith in so wonder ... I may want to add her to my voluminous info on HOW THEY FRAME PEOPLE FOR THE SO LIST.
Sgtmom, he can afford to be decent to your son. They have him where they want him.
Don't consider your son's life ruined. Consider him a brave soul who has stepped forward (albeit UNWILLINGLY) to save the rest of us.
You guys are walking all around the edges of the WHOLE PICTURE.

I realize that, like me, they try to keep you busy enough and pushed enough that you can't examine their actions and motives. Set aside any stress they throw at you and continue to scrutinize them and report it.
Yes, they kinda have sgtmom where they want her, too ... she has a 'good' situation and doesn't want to badmouth the 'few rare decent' ones. Who can blame her??

They can make her life hard. STill, I find nothing decent about people watching people pee and strapping them down, ya see?
I'm not hard-nosed. I've met and personally KNOW decent people who just do this for a living.
BUT, that smile atcha while they strap you down doesn't cut it with me.
ANY DECENT PEOPLE who are standing by and holding their hand out while this heinous stuff goes on are NOT doing the job that lies before them.
They can hide behind that patina of 'doing their job' but there's MORE to it.

Sgtmom, I meant what I said about collecting your story. I think I have enough now (I know I do) to blow holes in this whole standing room only registered sex offencers list.

This is just like planting drugs on people. They plant shit on computers and cellphones and plant people in your childrens' lives to f them over. It's no accident. I have on video the wife of the state's attorney's partner here threatening my family member with RSO in SO MANY WORDS. It's a DIRECT THREAT no matter how couched if you have the wherewithal OR the connections to threaten an innocent person with a crime.
That's THAT.

I'd like to know the story.

One man's simple writ got us all public defenders. Half a century later we have public pretenders.
ONE SIMPLE WRIT could roll all of this right back off the spectrum.

This should NOT BE a topic of discussion.
I don't care if your son or anyone's son looks at someone's boobies. TIME IMMEMORIAL.

The laws are wrong. Adolf Hitler was WRONG. The subject matter is closely correlated.

That's the friend, SgtMom....:)

It is interesting. In the Country I was born in, if a cop comes to your door, they have to have a search warrant to look into your private property. They also have to have cause to question suspects. Not sure if your significant other is on parole or probation, but I have had the knock several times. Standard questions apply. Am I under arrest? Do you have a court appointed lawyer with you before I answer any questions you might have? Could you read my miranda rights to me prior to asking questions so that we are BOTH aware of them? DO you have a warrant to look in my cars using that flashlight, at things that are not obvious from the street? Do you have a warrant to attempt entry into my home? If the answers are NO, then good day officer, without probable cause you are violating my civil rights, and violating my private property rights, good evening/morning/afternoon. Cops hate well informed citizens. research your state and federal laws to see exactly what police are allowed to do without probable cause. You have NOT given up your Rights as described in the Bill of Rights, even though the Cops and lawmakers believe you have.
